The 2025 Forum, centered on how Jesuit education ignites hope and transforms lives, draws insights from Ignatian spirituality, actual Wah Yan experiences, and the latest research in the fields of psychology, education and AI. In today's rapidly changing world, this event serves as a valuable platform for educators, parents, alumni, and anyone interested in youth formation to engage with the insights of Jesuit Fathers, distinguished academics, prominent alumni and professional practitioners. Together, we will explore ways to better support the next generation on their journey of growth.
Fr. Stephen Tong, S.J., Father Provincial of the Society of Jesus, Chinese Province on: "The Ignatian Path of Formation as a Hope Towards Transformation"
Professor Lisa Miller, New York Times bestselling writer and world authority on spirituality and psychology on: "The Science of Spirituality in Youth Mental Health and Flourishing"
Fr. Joseph Haw, S.J., School President of Xavier School, an elite school in the Philippines on: "Nurturing a supportive school culture and engaged learners: the interplay between the Ignatian concepts of cura personalis (care for the whole person) and magis ("more") from the perspective of Self-determination Theory"
A choice of 11 breakout sessions will then either go wider, exploring related topics, or deeper, sharing practical experiences of delivering or receiving Jesuit education. They cover topics such as spiritual formation and psychological well-being, preparation for post-secondary education and for the modern workplace, the impact of AI and technology on education and human relationships, alumni personal experiences, and teachers' frontline applications of Jesuit education approaches including the Jesuit examen and Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm at Wah Yan. Together, we aim to inspire a community dedicated to fostering hope and transformative growth among our youth.
